This page is about the first edition of Debugging with
Fiddler, published in 2012. The Second Edition was
published in 2015.
About the book
This was the first full-length book (330 pages) about
the
Fiddler Web Debugger. It's written by
Eric Lawrence, the developer of Fiddler.
In this book, you'll learn to fully exploit the power
of Fiddler to debug traffic from virtually any web-related
application, including all browsers and thousands of apps. You'll
see how to debug
HTTPS traffic, and use Fiddler with popular devices
like iPhone/iPod/iPad, Windows Phone, and others. After exploring the
hundreds of built-in features, you'll learn to extend Fiddler using the
FiddlerScript engine or build your own applications atop
the FiddlerCore class library.

News and Updates
December 8, 2014 -- Work on the
Second Edition of the ebook is underway. The new version of
the ebook will contain updates and expanded coverage of Fiddler features
added over the past two years and a half years.
If you purchased
the EBook from Lulu between JUNE 1, 2014 and March 5,2015, simply email me and I will send you a
free upgrade to the Second Edition PDF.
August 4, 2014 -- The
Chinese translation is available.
May 21, 2013
-- The book has been
translated to Japanese by O'Reilly.
June 22, 2012
-- Code samples are now available for download, and Amazon's "Search inside
this book" feature is now lit up.
June 21, 2012
-- I submitted the "Search inside this book" files to Amazon on the 16th but
the feature still hasn't lit up yet on the Amazon site.
I've also tried to run a few Google ads for the
book, but they've rejected this site as ineligible for advertising, an
outcome more surprising than anything else.
June 16, 2012
-- That was fast. The paperback is now available
from Amazon and
Amazon.co.uk. My next step is to get the "Search inside this book"
feature lit up for Amazon.
I've also checked out the ebook on the
Kindle Fire-- it looks good if you view the pages in landscape mode. It's
just a little too small in portrait. Check out the sample below and decide
for yourself.

It's live!
Debugging with Fiddler is
now available for purchase in
paperback
from CreateSpace. It will be available
from Amazon and Amazon Europe in 5-7 business days. The Print Edition is
$18.99 on CreateSpace; Amazon
might be
a few dollars less.
The
EBook
is available for download
in DRM-Free PDF format from Lulu; you can read it on any device
that supports PDF. From personal experience, I know it looks
great
on PC and iPad. Your mileage may vary for Kindle
Fire and Kindle.
June 13, 2012
-- CreateSpace review passed. Proof copy rush-ordered; general ordering
should unlock Friday night. Suggested retail for print edition is $19; don't
know how Amazon will price it.
iOS IBook and Kindle
ports underway; much more complicated than I hoped. PDF version looks
awesome
on IPAD but IBooks .ibs format needs a ton of
reformatting work. Greyscale Kindles may not work well at all due to limited
resolution and formatting of code samples; Kindle Fire PDF looks okay but
small.
Table of Contents PDF
You can download a free

renders well on your device. Pages with the most complex formatting were
selected.
